Swedish Style

I love Swedish design...it is light and simple. I have always admired floor mirrors and I think this one works beautifully in the entryway to this Swedish inspired home. The white floors and stairs are superb!

The full height silk curtains in the lounge and dinning are stunning. I love the mix of whites, creams and greys in the living areas and the way the colours have been layered.
I love built in book shelves to display lovely pieces and design books. The floors throughout the home are white washed which we rarely see here - simply beautiful.

I have met the owner of this home, and have been in his store 'Tone on Tone' in Bethesda, Maryland. His store is as beautiful as his home! It is full of gorgeous Swedish and French antiques, and has the same serene feel to it.

This home makes me want to toss everything in my home that is not a soft and soothing color!

gorgeous! and I love the clock in the first shot. Is it possibly a Gustavian clock? Emma from White and Wander's beautiful mum has a blog and she posted about them here http://arunciblespoon.blogspot.com/2008/07/clocks-and-other-treasure.html

So beautiful. Peaceful, calm relaxing, chic - all the things my house is not tonight with toys strewn everywhere! Love love, love the white floors. Would cleaning them be so terrible? I have always wanted a huge floor mirror. Maybe when the kids get a bit bigger...

My floors are a very similar color - the limed oak color was quite popular in the late 80s in the states, and this is when my house was built. The light floors make my house so light and bright, which I love. And, they hide dirt SO well - they never look dirty! They don't show scratches either. We have recently added a golden retriever to our family, and another bonus of this floor color is that the fur he sheds does not show!

I have heard that
