I too lost my mother ..going on 12 years ago now to cancer..and I still miss her terribly....but one thing I can promise you...is that it does get easier...and it will hurt a little less...and you walk with a love and a thankfulness in your heart for what you realise your mother gave you...and those things you will see in yourself.. it is a bond that will never fade darling..ever.

I am coming over from The House that A-M built. Oh, Amanda I know we don't know each other but I am so sorry for the pain you are going through. I know from personal experience what you are feeling at this moment. I lost my mother in 2002 and there is not a day that goes by where she is not in my thoughts. I know it is hard to imagine if you will ever get through this but you will. Time does not ever take the pain away it just changes your perception of it!
I just lost my aunt 2 days ago also and she was my mother's sister so that had been hard. Please stop over and read my post I have a beautiful poem that I'm sure will help, I posted it yesterday!

One of the best things my 6 sibs and I did when our Daddy died 2 years ago on the 24th was to open a blog in his name. We gave out the password to all the family, including 28 grandchildren to write in any memories of him. We've laughed and cried at all the entries. Essentially we are writing Daddy's history- just from our perspective. We'll print hard copies for anyone who wants one.

I have been stopped in my tracks -- the title of this post caught my eye, then I read back through some of your posts, and it seems we have been traveling the very same road, you and I.
And my mum's battle with her health issues finally ended on March 31 -- just a few weeks ago.
Amanda -- oh how I can relate to so much of what you said. How the things I'm responsible for here with the store, etc. kept me away from seeing her as much as I wished.... etc....
No matter how old we are, we are incredibly child-like again in times like this, no?

I was reading the House that A-M built oh sweetie I give you a huggie. You poor poppet, I lost my mum in 2005 and it aches I know. Gradually after lots of mixed emotions: in my case anger and pain, one day you will smile and remember something funny about her. I now “talk to mum” lots . It doesn’t take her place but somehow I feel she hears and it helps. I hope that this helps and just trust that it will be different and just let it flow, the grief, the sadness and then someday maybe even the joy of knowing that you had the privilege of sharing her life.
