A classic white kitchen...

Always so many beautiful kitchens to admire and here is another... Classic white cabinets and honed marble gives this kitchen its organic character. Accentuated by the pair of polished nickel lanterns over the island bench and nickel hardware, this kitchen provides plenty of space for family cooking. The large range adds a wonderful focal point to the room. I imagine this kitchen would be the heart of this home.

A Paris retreat...

Located on one of my favourite Paris squares, Place des Vosges, is this beautiful feminine and romantic apartment. Once home to a famous mistress to nobility everything about this residence says 'you are in Paris'. This is an apartment I would escape to for the weekend....

Beautiful fabrics, wonderful textures, antiques and books fill the apartment giving each of the rooms the most wonderful character and detail.

The exquisite bedroom with its views over the blue slate rooftops of the square.

Looking down the hallway to the powder room...I love the contrast of the dark wall and the timber parquet floor.

I would invite you over for some afternoon tea and macaroons.

Just step outside to explore the fashionable galleries surrounding the square or just stop for a moment and enjoy the beauty of the gardens....Ax

Visual escape...

One of my favourite coffee table books I own is "My Amalfi Coast" written by Amanda Tabberer. When ever I feel like I need a holiday this is the book I read or flip thru. I am always dreaming of renting one of her holiday apartments on the Amalfi.... this is my kind of escape!

...I do not think I would ever tire of this view!

so many of the apartments have beautiful tiles and stunning architectural features.

You can explore more of the apartments and villas here.
Which one would you choose? Enjoy your weekend....Ax

Curtain Inspiration

What a day! Lots of client meetings mostly selecting fabrics for curtains and measuring up windows. I always get very excited about designing curtains with clients. It makes such a difference to a room and its always fun to work with great fabrics and get a little creative seeing the rooms come together. None of these rooms would be quiet the same without their window dressings! So now I am off to put my feet up for the rest of the evening....Ax

and we are adding a few romans blinds as well to some of the rooms....

Beautiful bathroom...

For me my dream bathroom would always be a place of calm and definitely a have large bath to soak in. I am a believer in the restorative powers of a bath, as well as being one place I can completely escape with no interruptions. I am just about to head home from work and could spend an hour in this bath! I love the green and white geometric pattern and how it really adds to the personality of this beautiful room.

and a morning shower to start the next day!

I always love using fabrics to make lampshades and also add them to pendant lights like above....it really adds some fabulous colour and personality to a room. I am working on a few children's bedrooms at the moment for clients and I am having fun putting it all together today....Ax

Happy weekend...

This morning I would love to be relaxing on this delightful deck....

After a long and fabulous summer break I am back blogging this weekend. It has been a very eventful start to the year here in Queensland and as I head into a relaxed weekend I think of all the people in the north of our state who have experienced the devastating force of the cyclone this week. The destruction is heartbreaking....thinking of you all. x

Christmas joy...

Yesterday I received this picture in my email from my beautiful daughter which she had taken on her ipod earlier that day. It was such a lovely image to open during a busy day of Christmas planning and last minute organising. To me it is these simple little messages of love which means the most at Christmas time. I look forward to spending a lovely day with our dear family and seeing the delight and happiness which this season brings to them especially my daughter, niece and nephews.

I wish you all a very happy Christmas,
may the season bring you joy, peace and many blessings.
