A Paris retreat...

Located on one of my favourite Paris squares, Place des Vosges, is this beautiful feminine and romantic apartment. Once home to a famous mistress to nobility everything about this residence says 'you are in Paris'. This is an apartment I would escape to for the weekend....

Beautiful fabrics, wonderful textures, antiques and books fill the apartment giving each of the rooms the most wonderful character and detail.

The exquisite bedroom with its views over the blue slate rooftops of the square.

Looking down the hallway to the powder room...I love the contrast of the dark wall and the timber parquet floor.

I would invite you over for some afternoon tea and macaroons.

Just step outside to explore the fashionable galleries surrounding the square or just stop for a moment and enjoy the beauty of the gardens....Ax

A beautiful apartment!

I particularly like the armchairs in the second picture - we only see the back of them.

Can someone tell me what this style of armchair is called?

I LOVE La Place de Vosges. It really is my favourite place in Paris. Not many touristes know about it and it 's tucked away and oh so romantique. One of my first dates with my husband was there. That appartement would suit me 100%!

This apartment is truly superb. I lived many years in Paris in Neuilly but always dreamt of living on Pl des Vosges. The area has several gems like this one - I agree with a previous poster about macaroons - strawberry flavored are my favourites. What a fabulous set of pictures - makes me nostalgic for Paris. Interior design is very different where I now live in Finland.

Off to try & convince Management to have our next Sales Meeting in Paris with my accommodation in this exquisite apartment! Beats the wilds of North Ryde hands down.

Ater looking at this blog the other day I have since bought 2 fabulous candelabras (lustres) ceiling lamps in auction. They are originally from Sweden but look very similar to the ones illustrated here. Can't wait ti put them up.
