London...

I am slowly coming back to reality after my trip, although reading Vicki's fabulous posts this week about Paris has not helped cure my bad case of wanderlust! Part of my recent trip was spent three wonderful days in London where I stayed at a little hotel, The Cranley in Kensington. So as requested here are some more images from my trip!

The first day I had in London there was heavy rain which did not stop all day! Returning to the hotel wet and cold (my umbrella provided little protection, but that didn't stop me!), it was lovely to be welcomed by the beautiful fire. The hotel serves tea and scones each afternoon so I spent the next hour sitting in the hotel lounge warming up enjoying afternoon tea in 'my' quintessentially English surroundings.

I took this picture the following morning from my hotel room where the day was completely opposite to the previous one; a rare sunny English winter day! I adore all the terrace homes in the streets surrounding the hotel.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend....Ax

Lovely pics Amanda...London when it shines is a wonderful city but when it rains...now that's another story. I am so glad you had a lovely time and thank you for thinking of me, xv.

Hi Amanda,
Yay !!!! London.
So sorry that it was raining when you came but, your photographs don't reflect the bad weather you had. Actually we haven't had much rain lately. I think that Australia has had more than us, and it's their summer !! ....London looks beautiful in your photographs, and your hotel looks so lovely.
I love many cities in the world, Florence, Venice, Paris, New York but it's London that has my heart..... I guess I'm a little biased !!
I have really enjoyed seeing your photographs of your trip, Amanda.
Have a great weekend. XXXX

Lovely. I'll keep that hotel in mind; it looks very comfortable and tea and scones would be most welcome after a walk on a wintry day. One day I'm sure to get to London! xa

The hotel in Kensington looks wonderful! You must have had a lovely stay. I love London and am hoping to be there (for work, but that's okay by me!) in April with a side trip to Paris afterward. Fingers crossed!

Great shots for life wonderful souvenirs.

I agree with some ladies, telling that London or England in whole, is stunning when it's not raining.

Looks you enjoyed your trip.

Happy Heart's Day, Amanda.

That part of west London is certainly lovely.
We actually shot very near the Hotel you were staying at a couple of months back for our Distil Ennui studio

I stayed at the Cranley, which is very convenient, but unfortunately the rooms are a bit hit and miss. The first one I was given was at the top of the house overlooking the street, which would ordinarily have suited me, but next door they were disassembling some scaffolding, and chucking it on to the street, which made a thunderous noise. I asked to be moved, and was given what seemed like a great room, facing the back, but it turned out that the bed head was other other side of the lift which wooshed up and down throughout the entire time. Sad really, but you don't really need that at those prices!

Thanks for sharing these fabulous shots of my favorite city -- I miss it so much and need to get back. I usually stay at a little place called the Claverley, which sounds so much like your wonderful hotel, just makes me miss it all the more. Love your blog and have chosen it for a Sunshine Award - hope you can pop over to my blog to claim a little sunshine for yourself!

Its always true what they say, you forget how beautiful somewhere is when you are there everyday. The church and garden in your photographs is right next to my office and I forget to appreciate just how beautiful it is - thanks for reminding me. I promise to appreciate my little bit of beauty I get to spend my lunchtimes in!
