Back home & still thinking of Paris!

I have been at home for a few days now recovering from my wonderful trip and slowly getting back into the routine of the different time zone! I ended my trip in Paris where I spent time at Maison Objet and then was able to have a few days enjoying Paris....although I have visited Paris many times before, her beauty and magic never disappoints! Like all francophiles out there, I am already dreaming of my next trip!

I thought I would leave you with some of the pictures I took of my trip for the weekend...I love the architecture and gardens of the 'Petit Trianon' at Versailles. One is easily captivated by the decadent world of Marie Antoinette she made in this home a gift to her from her husband, King Louis XVI. This is the place where she danced, gambled, dabbled in horticulture and bought two pairs of shoes a week!

....the grand entrance

....the music room

....beautiful details

...the bedroom

....the kitchen

...front courtyard

...beautiful winter garden

Have a wonderful weekend....Ax

Welcome home, Amanda and thank you for that tour of Petit Trianon! I think I would hide somewhere and wander the halls when everybody else had gone, being Marie Antoinette for a while!

What a house! Not the sort of place you would wear old 'tracky dacks' and walk around with your hair unbrushed! Hope the jet lag ends soon.

Sounds like an amazing trip, but then again, you ended the trip in my very fav city, so of course, it's amazing! You're so lucky to have seen Petit Trianon. When I was at Versailles Dec. 2007, it was being renovated so I did not get to see it.
Happy weekend!

Lovely to have you back, Amanda and with such wonderful photographs.
You only have to say Versailles and I'm off into fantasy land. I love visiting Versailles and Marie's Petit Trianon is something that any woman would love to be given. Such a gorgeous house in it's own right, let alone the magnificence that is Versaille itself.
I also love the towm of Versailles with the market, antique shops and meat and fish market.
Although it must have been a wonderful trip, I'm sure that you're glad to be home. XXXX
