Inner courtyard....

I am doing a happy dance that it is now Friday evening and I can put my feet up and relax! It has been hot here in Brisbane this week so just looking at these images makes me feel cooler. Isn't this a lovely courtyard? I have always wanted an inner courtyard, like on many of the old French or Italian houses.

I would enjoy setting this table and spending the summer afternoon over a long lunch with family or friends.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Ax

Hi Amanda,

Glad the weekend is here and you can finally take a break. :-)

I, too, have always loved the idea of courtyards. They provide privacy, style and more than a touch of romance. Maybe someday a vacation home in Europe will satisfy the desire to have one, but for now, I'll just enjoy these lovely photos.

Thanks for sharing.

HI Amanda
I'm with you on both the weekend and the courtyards..

It's fluctuating between hot and humid and cold and windy in Sydney.. strange weather for months now...

Love to have .. first a home.. and then a wonderful courtyard like this. Somewhere to relax and hide away from the world.. fabulous!! Have a great weekend.. xx Julie

I LOVE courtyards. They really do remind me of summer holidays in the Mediterranean.

amanda;

what inspiration! as i sit indoors shivering in chicago i dream of a hot night in australia lounging in a court yard.
was just thinking recently "why are there so few inner courtyards in middle america?" such a wonderful architectural element

I've always thought it would be a treat to have a European style inner courtyard like this, but I'll settle for my current patio!

Cold down here Amanda - much to MOTH's disgust I've had the electric blanket cranked up to 9 every night this week! We have a courtyard - it does not look like this beauty!
