French bistro chairs

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break. We had wonderful weather here in Brisbane and I spent the long weekend catching up with family and friends....nice and relaxing! This week it is back to work at the shop and organising client projects which is always fun and never really seems like work!

Kitchens are one of my favourite spaces in a home. The addition of great bar stools always completes an island bench and is worth getting right. One I am very fond of is the French bistro stool. They comfortable and practical while adding a certain charm to the kitchen don't you think?

The bistro chairs look fabulous in this dining room. I love the colours and relaxed feel of this dining room.

Today at Oliveaux....

...our shop footpath today

I am very excited to received our delivery of Fiddle Leaf Figs which we will sell at our shop. As you all know I love to add them into the homes we decorate. They add such a wonderful sculptural element to a room. The challenge for our clients has always been locating them around town. So we have decided to add them to our footpath!

Classic Ginger Jars....

Our new front window display is full of beautiful blue and white ginger jars and vases. I had some fun this morning re-arranging the window and unpacking new stock. I love using these classic blue and white pieces on client projects.

Our new garden planter works well either inside or outside.
I love the use of the planter in the courtyard of Mark D. Sikes home.

Weekend reading...

It has taken me all week to find enough time to sit down and read the latest edition of Lonny.
It is wonderful to see them back again.

Have a lovely weekend!

Gorgeous Garden

As you know I love gardens and this Sydney garden is simply beautiful....I rediscovered this home while flicking thru my files this afternoon!

I arrived back yesterday from Sydney where I spent the weekend catching up with my sister and doing some buying for the shop. I am always inspired by the beautiful harbour and architecture of the homes there.

Dreaming of the Riviera...

Daydreaming of escaping to the French Riviera, the sultry air, beautiful waters and coastline...is it ever to early to start planning?

Fuelling my desire for an escape to the beautiful mediterranean is the fabulous new 'Cote d'Azur collection of indoor/outdoor fabrics...I look forward using some of them very soon. However, in the meantime after enjoying a very warm week in Brisbane and I will be content just to relax by the pool this weekend.

Happy weekend...Ax

Loving this classic style...

These gorgeous images are from the latest edition of House Beautiful which was a wonderful read this month. I love the black and white entry way of this classic beauty! Lots of white paint with black accents and timber...add a few decorative pieces and a great lantern...voila...a wonderful entry.

Mixing some of my favourite pieces...a chinois feature chair, cross stools and great fabrics. Gives this room an updated look on a traditional style. I always love being surrounded by books not to mention they add both decoration and along with the different textures it all works together to give interest to this neutral living room.

Island style...

Oliveaux

We have been rearranging the shop this morning and unpacking new things that have arrived in. I am loving so many of the pieces and have resisted taking some of the home for myself! One of our wonderful client's popped in with some beautiful big frond's this morning which we have put on top of our Caribbean buffet. I love how they give an island feel and add's some life to the front of the shop...perfect for our warm Queensland weather as they last really well in our heat.

Thank you also to Ivy & Piper for the mention in the latest edition of their magazine. Be sure to take a look as there are so many wonderful things featured.

Enjoy your Tuesday...Ax

p.s. Oliveaux will be open late for the next two Thursday nights leading up to Christmas....so stop by and let us help you find that special gift. We will also wrap it for you!

Spring love....

Who says it is spring? This week seems to feeling a little more like summer here in Brisbane. I am loving that the hydrangeas are out and are as gorgeous as ever; although they probably will not last long in our heat but I am enjoying the addition of one at the Oliveaux shop front this week.

I am also loving this new collection of fabrics and wallpaper...the colours and patterns are divine!

More from the shop...

...a couple more happy snaps from our new shop in Brisbane. The week seems to be going so fast for me...I cannot believe it is Wednesday already. The images show a little of the furniture which we can customise for clients and accessories which are available in store along with a collection of some of our cushions. If you cannot make it into the shop we are always happy to ship to you or we will customise pieces to suit your home.

Hope you all have a great end to your day...Ax
